Bespoke Angle Purlins & Steel Angles
With our comprehensive manufacturing facilities, and years of experience within the industry, Venture Steel Group manufactures steel angles for all types of application. Our family-run business prioritises excellent customer service, working with clients to establish the exacting specifications and requirements for their bespoke steel angles.
The rapid expansion of Venture Steel Group over the years demonstrates our ability to deliver on our promises, supplying structural steel to a variety of industries and clientele. Whether a mass volume batch, or smaller, one-off projects, Venture Steel Group seeks to accommodate all project sizes with the same high levels of attentiveness and craftsmanship.
Venture Steel Group’s bespoke angles can be fabricated from a 25-200mm leg, in gauges of steel from 0.38-6.00mm. Our steel can be supplied as galvanised, hot or cold rolled, to suit most applications and meet most standards; we further work with a range of steel grades from DX52, through to S350-S550 and many exotic structural types.
Bespoke Steel Angles
A steel angle, or steel angle bar, is one of the simplest formed profiles, which can be manufactured by a press brake or rolling mill. This may take the profile of a ‘V’, where the legs are of equal length, or an ‘L’, where one leg is longer than the other. For both the equal and unequal leg angles, the angle for a steel angle will be 90°. A steel angle will typically be made from a high strength steel which can provide structural support within a building or structure.

Bespoke angles are suitable for application in the construction of industrial and commercial buildings or structures, for structural support and framing. This may include: warehouses, bridges, shelving, or even commercial goods such as benches and tables.
The inside radius of the steel angle will measure the fillet, or angle. A steel angle bar can further be measured through the thickness of its leg, and leg length. Leg length from the fillet or inside radius may be equal, or unequal. Both the thickness and length can be made bespoke for differing applications.
A steel angle is particularly strong, and is often used for structural support. The strength: weight ratio of structural steel is desirable, and reinforced by the 90° angle, which is resistant to bending.
You can order and purchase bespoke steel purlins in any shape and size provided it is suitable for the specific structure. However, for most of our customers, there are bespoke shapes that are more common than others.
Here are the main types of bespoke angle purlins:
- V Section
- L Section
- J Section
Galvanised purlins share many similarities with red oxide purlins. Although they are more expensive as an initial purchase, they also last much longer and are ideal for highly corrosive environments, such as any structure near the ocean as the corrosion-resistant coating will protect against salt water and other elemental problems.
The first question you need to ask is what are Steel Angles, and why do they matter? Steel angles are an essential part of many applications. From structural demands like reinforcement and support to framing, bordering and much more, steel angles provide stability and strength that other materials would not provide. Besides this, steel angles also provide a cost-effective benefit thanks to their reusability, while the multifunctional design means that anyone can find a reliable use when approaching their next project.
Another common question we receive is what is a bespoke angle steel purlin? These are purlins that are not typically C or Z-shaped. Venture Steel can design bespoke steel angle purlins in a variety of shapes by using the design and current spacing of the existing structural elements to ensure the best fit.
Although purlins are available in many materials to meet your budget and needs, steel purlins provide optimal strength and stability to suit the weight of the material. This feature makes them pound for pound the strongest material to use and ensures the peace of mind you need when designing and carrying out structural projects.
A red oxide purlin is a type of purlin. This type of finish uses a thin coat of red oxide paint and is appealing since it protects the steel that would otherwise rust and corrode in just a few days. This protects the steel during shipment and beyond to guarantee better durability and quality for a longer period. We don't supply red oxide purlins here at venture steel.
No, you cannot paint galvanised purlins as the paint will not adhere to the metal, so it will eventually shed, which can affect appearance due to the zinc coating that resists corrosion.
This is all completed throughout Venture Steel Group’s two family owned sites, totalling over 75,000 sq. ft., and aided by CNC machinery for increased efficiency. This allows the team at Venture Steel Group to process large material tonnage, whilst meeting agreed project timescales. We can provide these services globally.
At Venture Steel Group, we are committed to providing superior quality angle purlins with tailor-made solutions, experienced steel fabrication engineers and first-class customer service. Our team is dedicated to delivering projects on time, and within budget, so you can rest assured that you’re getting the best value for your money.
